Custom Shower Door Installation in New Jersey
Frameless, semi-frameless, and framed shower enclosures, custom-measured and built to fit your bathroom perfectly.
Totowa Glass designs, fabricates, and installs custom frameless, semi-frameless, and framed shower doors for bathrooms across North Jersey. Every enclosure is measured on-site and built in our own South Hackensack shop for an exact fit.
Shower Door Styles We Install
Frameless Shower Doors
Frameless shower doors use thick tempered glass, typically half an inch, with minimal metal hardware holding the panels in place. There is no metal framing around the glass itself, just hinges, a header bar if needed, and a handle. The result is a clean, modern look that makes a bathroom feel larger and lets tile or stone finishes show through uninterrupted. Frameless enclosures cost more than framed options, but they are the most requested style we install and the easiest to keep clean since there is no frame to collect soap scum or mold.
Semi-Frameless Shower Doors
Semi-frameless doors use thinner glass, usually three-eighths of an inch, with a slim metal frame around the door panel only. Fixed panels can still be mounted with clips for a near-frameless appearance at a lower price point. This style gives homeowners much of the clean look of frameless glass at a more moderate cost, making it a popular middle option for bathroom remodels on a budget.
Framed Shower Doors
Framed shower doors use a full metal frame around every edge of the glass, including the door panel and any fixed side panels. Because the frame supports the glass, framed doors can use thinner, more affordable glass and still meet safety standards. This is the most budget-friendly option and the easiest to install in bathrooms with uneven walls or non-standard openings, since the frame can be adjusted to compensate for small gaps.
Sliding Shower Doors
Sliding shower doors run on a top and bottom track and are the standard choice for tub and shower combinations. Two or three glass panels overlap and slide side to side instead of swinging out, which makes them a smart choice for smaller bathrooms where a swinging door would hit a vanity or toilet. We offer sliding doors in framed, semi-frameless, and bypass configurations to match the rest of your bathroom hardware.
Neo-Angle Shower Enclosures
Neo-angle enclosures are built for corner showers, with two angled glass panels meeting a door at a point that juts into the room. This configuration maximizes usable shower space in a small bathroom footprint and pairs well with corner shower bases. Because every neo-angle shower is a different size and angle, these enclosures are always custom measured and custom built, never sold off the shelf.
Steam Shower Enclosures
A steam shower enclosure has to seal completely from floor to ceiling to keep steam from escaping into the rest of the bathroom. That means a fitted transom panel above the door, sealed edges, and hardware rated to handle sustained heat and moisture. If you are installing a steam generator as part of your renovation, let us know early so we can design the enclosure around it from the start.
Glass Thickness and Glass Options
Shower door glass ranges from quarter-inch for framed doors up to half-inch for frameless enclosures, and every option we install uses tempered safety glass that breaks into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards if it ever shatters. Beyond standard clear glass, we also offer low-iron glass for a cleaner, less green-tinted appearance, along with frosted and textured glass for bathrooms where you want privacy without sacrificing natural light. If you are still deciding between finishes, our glass types page breaks down the full range of options we carry for residential projects.
Hardware Finishes and Custom Sizing
Hinges, handles, and header bars come in chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, and oil-rubbed bronze, so your shower door hardware can match your faucets and other bathroom fixtures. Every shower door we build is custom sized to the opening in front of us, including angled ceilings, non-standard tub decks, and tight alcove showers that off-the-shelf kits cannot handle. If your bathroom has an unusual layout, that is exactly the kind of project we are set up to do well.
